Job Description

The Sales Manager will have responsibility for the commercial sales strategy and execution for the local Sonwil Logistics branch.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create and execute effective sales growth/profit strategy for truckload, less-than-truckload, and parcel services in the North American theater
  • Develop, implement and manage team and individual sales plans to goal
  • Identify, recruit, train, lead and mentor sales team members
  • As a player coach, prospect and convert new customers to Sonwil’s logistics services
  • Collaborating with other functional heads, manage national bid opportunities from discovery to execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • BS/BA or similar/related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in management and leadership of a sales team in the logistics and transportation industry
  • Prior sales experience in 3PL, eCommerce, warehouse/distribution, value added service (VAS) a plus
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, leadership and verbal/written skills
  • A demonstrated history of exceeding objectives
  • Proven sales ability, strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically as well as deliver tactical results
  • Experience in troubleshooting/problem-solving and developing solutions in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of customers/accounts, transportation carriers and related parties

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leadership responsibility for the local commercial sales team
