Logistics Management Development Internship

Internship Description

As an intern for Sonwil Logistics, you will help facilitate coast-to-coast freight moves in the U.S. and Canada for companies of all sizes, in all different industries. This unique experience will provide you will the learning opportunities to understand truckload freight brokerage and asset-based transportation from the ground up. Throughout your time at Sonwil Logistics you will be actively engaging with all departments (customer service, carrier procurement, account management, asset operations and finance) and the leaders who run them. Equipped with the necessary tools, this experience will allow you to focus on and grow our brokerage business, helping our customers move their inventory in the most cost-effective way by identifying and implementing swift logistics solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project-based assignments

  • Learn and operate Tech-Stack
  • Transportation Management Systems
  • Machine Learning and predictive rating software
  • Telematics Integrations
  • Digital Freight Matching software
  • Daily administrative tasks
  • Updating the Transportation Management System
  • Compiling data
  • Organizing/updating digital files
  • Tracking and tracing freight movement
  • Carrier Development and procurement
  • Engaging with BCOs to plan and organize freight movement and volumes
  • Receivables and payables
  • POD retrievals from carriers and BCOs

  • Enthusiasm and high energy
  • People person, friendly, outgoing, and confidence is a must
  • Individually motivated
  • Interns work in the office ON-SITE. The roles are based in Buffalo, but open to students going to colleges outside of the Buffalo region
  • You must have reliable transportation to get to the office
